VerbaVox ("we," "us," or "our") is a real-time voice translation mobile application developed and operated by NovaStack LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and services.

1. Information We Collect

VerbaVox collects the following information to provide our real-time translation services:

Phone Number: Collected during account registration for identity verification via SMS text message. Your phone number is stored securely and used solely to send one-time verification codes when you request them.
Audio Data: Temporarily processed for real-time translation during calls. Audio is processed in real-time and is NOT stored or recorded after the call ends.
Usage Data: Call duration, feature usage, and app performance metrics to improve our services.
Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version for troubleshooting and compatibility.

Your Consent

By providing your mobile phone number and tapping "Send Code" or similar button in the VerbaVox mobile application, you are providing your express written consent to receive SMS text messages from NovaStack LLC (doing business as VerbaVox) at the phone number you provided. You agree that these messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system.

Types of Messages You Will Receive

Verification Codes: One-time password (OTP) codes to verify your identity when signing up or logging into your VerbaVox account
Security Alerts: Notifications if suspicious activity is detected on your account

We do NOT send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your use of the app. You will only receive SMS messages when you explicitly request a verification code by initiating the login or signup process. Typical usage is 1-2 messages per authentication attempt. You will not receive recurring automated messages without your action.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Please check with your mobile carrier for details about your text messaging plan and any associated costs. We are not responsible for any charges from your carrier.

How to Opt-Out of SMS Messages

You can stop receiving SMS messages from VerbaVox at any time by:

Texting STOP to any message you receive from us
Emailing support@verbavox.net with the subject "SMS Opt-Out"

After texting STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message stating you have been unsubscribed. After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from VerbaVox. Please note that opting out of SMS messages may limit your ability to use phone-based verification features.

Supported Carriers

Our SMS service is compatible with all major US mobile carriers including but not limited to: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Consent Not Required for Purchase

Your consent to receive SMS text messages is NOT required as a condition of purchasing any products or services from VerbaVox. You may use alternative verification methods if available.

Mobile Information Sharing Policy

We do not share, sell, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent information to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Phone Number Privacy

Your phone number will only be used for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. We share your phone number only with our SMS service provider (Twilio Inc.) for the sole purpose of delivering verification messages to you. Twilio is bound by strict data processing agreements and does not use your information for any other purpose.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not share, sell, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent information to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

We do NOT sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

We share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate our services, under strict confidentiality agreements:

Twilio Inc.: SMS text message delivery service - receives your phone number solely to deliver verification codes
Agora: Video/voice call infrastructure - no personal data shared
Stripe: Payment processing - receives payment information you provide at checkout
AI Translation Services: Text/audio for translation - data is anonymized and not linked to your identity

We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:

Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) for all data transmission
Encryption at rest for stored data
Secure authentication practices
Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Limited employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis

6. Data Retention

Phone Numbers: Retained while your account is active. Permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
Audio Data: NOT retained. Processed in real-time and immediately discarded after translation.
Usage Data: Retained for up to 12 months for service improvement, then anonymized or deleted.
Payment Information: Stored securely by our payment processor (Stripe) according to their privacy policy.

You have the right to:

VerbaVox is operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
